Welcome letter from the Headteacher

Normanton Junior School prides itself on its caring and positive ethos. We endeavour to make our pupil's learning as exciting and enjoyable as we can. Children have the opportunity to participate in a residential visit as well as numerous day visits to enrich our curriculum.

Our building was originally the Freeston Grammar School and today it still retains much of its heritage and excellent facilities. We are lucky enough to have both an assembly hall, equipped with a full theatrical stage, and a separate gymnasium. The school has a large playing field and separate playgrounds for our upper and lower KS2 children. There are two ICT suites available for our children to use.

There are numerous extra curricular activities for our pupils, ranging from Chess, Scrabble and Jigsaw Club to a variety of sports clubs.

We are able to offer working parents wrap around childcare, with our own Breakfast Club running from 8.00am each morning. After school care is provided by our partner organisation,The Clubhouse, who provide childcare in our community room from 3.00pm until 5.45pm.

We pride ourselves on our open door policy. Visits for prospective pupils are warmly welcomed.
